Formation of the Universe: the Big Computation

For the first time ever, researchers were able to calculate how matter evolved throughout the entire observable Universe, from the Big Bang to today. For such large calculations, they have used Curie, one of the world’s most powerful supercomputers which is housed at the CEA.1 The scientific objective of the DEUS Full Universe project: to understand the formation of cosmological structures and what drives the accelerating expansion of the Universe.
