Freedom and independence for research

Yuh-Man Sun and Iva Sovadinová explain their experiences as Cofund Marie Curie Fellows under the SOMOPRO programme in Czech Republic. The Cofund action offers additional funding to existing or new regional and national fellowship programmes to develop researchers’ careers through international mobility.

The aim of Yuh-Man Sun’s research is to produce neurons outside of the body to test drugs and treat patients. The MC grant helped Yuh-Man Sun and her family to settle in Brno. On the other hand, Iva Sovadinová comments how the Marie Curie fellowship facilitated the reintegration in her country of origin. Through the Marie Curie grant, she obtained the funding to have freedom and independence in her research that is focused on male fertility.
